The portfolio, currently valued at €1.3 bn, is the product of a joint venture between Boreal IM and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

Ruiz’s hire brings Boreal’s headcount to 23 and nationality count to 15. The pan-European investment manager, whose current focus is on the industrial and logistics sectors, is headquartered in London and has a local presence in the Netherlands and France.

'Hands-on value creation is a central feature of our investment strategy, whether that be through development and refurbishment, targeted capex programmes, or ESG improvements, and Johana will play an important role in this.'

Said Ruiz: 'Boreal has developed a market-leading reputation in the space of two years in the European logistics market. I look forward to bringing my experience in green real estate development, helping to drive sustainable and long-term value for our investment partners.'
