Wuhan office reopens

JLL’s office in Wuhan, China, has reopened after two months of being shut.

The company said it came with a ‘sense of relief’ as people were keen to see and reconnect with their team members.

'It was thrilling to walk into the office after everything we have been through. We’ve all missed it, I think,’ said Eric Xin, general manager of Wuhan, Nanjing and Hangzhou. ‘This is a very special moment for us even though we stayed connected digitally.’

JLL reports that with much of the world still in lockdown, offices starting to reopen in China are providing a glimpse of what could come for other cities and countries in the coming months. The property services firm added precautions were being taken to ensure the office remains safe, with JLL implementing a gradual return of employees, as well as mandatory wearing of masks.

‘I am very pleased to see our Wuhan colleagues remain safe and sound,’ said KK Fung, Greater China CEO. ‘It has been a tough period for everyone. Our thoughts have been with our colleagues who have been in the thick of it – your teamwork and strength in combating the outbreak and going through this difficult time is admirable.’

The firm's office is located at the Ping An Finance Center.
