Strong market fundamentals will help tide Dutch real estate over the pandemic and enable it to focus on increased sustainability once recovery sets in, according to a panel of industry insiders.
With abundant capital available in the market despite the crisis, investors are sharpening their focus on sustainability and ESG issues in response to a growing shift to circular economy principles, PropertyEU's Investment in the Netherlands Roundtable heard.
Held at PropertyEU's HQ in Utrecht in early September, the event featured market experts from property adviser Savills, law firm CMS, alternative investment firm Angelo Gordon, industrial giant Panattoni and development company Edge.
The five experts gave their views on a wide range of topics, from demand and supply of real estate to occupier markets, rental prospects, financing conditions, opportunities per asset class and investment style, legal terms and negotiations taking place, and factors at play within the ESG context.
Watch our video from the event to hear highlights from our panellists. The Investment in the Netherlands Roundtable was one of three thought summits hosted by PropertyEU in September, with the other two exploring new dynamics in the logistics and residential sectors.
