UBS AM appoints new chief investment officer

UBS Asset Management's real estate & private markets (UBS AM-REPM) business announces that it has appointed Jonathan Hollick to the newly created role of chief investment officer (CIO) of its real estate platform in EMEA (excluding Switzerland) alongside a number of other senior appointments.

Hollick takes on the CIO position as of October 1, following almost 10 years in the firm's real estate business, where he most recently held the dual roles of head of transactions UK and portfolio manager for the UK property fund, Triton property fund.

As CIO, Hollick will oversee the investment activities and teams across its EMEA real estate platform, effective 1 October and will report to Reto Ketterer, head of real estate EMEA.

Hollick will also chair a newly-formed European growth group, comprising senior real estate directors from across the EMEA organisation, and will be focused on facilitating and implementing new product ideas, with a number of initiatives already in the pipeline.

Other promotions within the EMEA real estate business include that of Benoit Delaby, who will assume the new position of head of portfolio management in addition to his current role leading the customised mandates organisation, and Gijsbert van Riemsdijk, who has been appointed head of transactions.

Reto Ketterer, head of real estate EMEA at UBS-AM, commented: 'These appointments reflect our commitment to further expand our leading franchise in Europe, with a clear focus on developing innovative products and delivering attractive returns for our clients.'
