Skanska sells Swedish retirement home for €31m

Nordic developer Skanska has sold a combined retirement home and rental apartments for senior citizens in Älvängen, Sweden to private Swedish housing specialist Rikshem for a transaction volume of SEK 310 mln (€31 mln). 

The project has been developed by Skanska Sweden. The transfer is scheduled for the third quarter 2018.

The project comprises two separate buildings, a four-storey retirement home with 50 apartments and a rental housing unit consisting of 28 apartments designed for persons over 65 years old. The buildings are leased to Ale municipality.

The retirement home is LEED Gold certified and the intention is to also apply for environmental certification for the rental apartments according to Miljöbyggnad Silver.

Skanska registered sales of about SEK 65 bn across its Nordic operations during 2017.
