Savills twitter row: worker arrested

The Savills employee at the centre of a racist tweet storm has been arrested.

Andrew Bone, 37, reportedly self-presented to Cheadle Heath police station in Greater Manchester and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of an offence under Section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act.

The Daily Mail newspaper reported that three officers carrying evidence bags and a police radio could be seen searching Bone’s terraced home in Manchester, spending 20 minutes gathering evidence.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said a suspect had been released under investigation.

Savills has already suspended the employee pending the outcome of the police investigation.

The accused has claimed his twitter account was hacked.
