PropertyEU has appointed Robin Marriott as Editor-in-Chief with effect from 1 February 2019. Robin previously held the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief under the current Editor-in-Chief Judi Seebus who is leaving the company from the same date.
Judi Seebus, Editor-in-Chief, PropertyEU, said: ‘In the past 12 ½ years, PropertyEU has become the pre-eminent real estate publication across Europe and we have built a solid brand and an excellent editorial team in the leading European cities. I am delighted that Robin will be taking over the baton. In the past year, he has made a terrific contribution to the further development of PropertyEU’s monthly magazine and I have great confidence in his ability to lead our growing stable of publications. I wish him and the rest of the team the very best of luck.’
Prior to PropertyEU, Robin was Editor of PERE magazine in London and New York from 2006 to 2015. He became a columnist at PropertyEU in 2016 before assuming the role of Deputy Editor-in-Chief in January 2017. He also worked at Property Week magazine from 1999 to 2005 where his last position was News Editor.
Robin said, ‘Judi has been instrumental in building the PropertyEU brand and for over a decade has been the public face of the publication. It is a privilege to be asked to build on what she and the PropertyEU team have achieved. The impressive subscriber and advertising base of the publications is a Who’s Who of the European property market. I look forward to working with them and new readers to reflect the themes and deals that matter to them.’
In 2019, PropertyEU will offer high-level roundtable discussions with thought leaders from the European real estate industry, moderated by members of its specialist editorial team in Utrecht, London and Rome.
‘We will further expand our business with new quality events and build further on our print and online presence,’ added PropertyEU publisher Erik de Boer. ‘We see huge potential for deepening our coverage of proptech with our recently launched publication Firestarters as well as more specialist coverage of other sectors such as retail, logistics, residential and offices.’
Australian-born Judi Seebus founded PropertyEU in Amsterdam together with Wabe van Enk and Erik de Boer in 2006. From 1 February, she will assume the role of Director at Bellier Financial, the Anglo-Dutch communications group operating in European financial, real estate and corporate markets.
