Pension fund Varma has expanded its property portfolio by purchasing two properties in the surroundings of Helsinki. The group has bought a sports and welfare centre in Salmisaari, Helsinki from YIT for EUR 37 mln. The centre is under construction and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2010. It will include around 20,000 m[sup]2[/sup] of leasable area. Additionally, Varma bought a 60,000 m[sup]2[/sup] logistics property in Hakkila, Vantaa from Nordisk Renting Oy. The transaction price was not disclosed.
