Dutch real estate company OVG has sold the Maas Tower project in Rotterdam to SEB for EUR 150 mln. The property will become the tallest office tower in the Netherlands. It will comprise 37,500 m2 lettable floor area based over 44 floors and will be 165 meters high.
The main tenants will be Deloitte and AKD Prinsen van Wijmen. 'OVG is one of Holland's largest developers with over 1,000,000 m2 in development. The Maas Tower is one of our most prestigious developments to date for OVG and is an enormous boost for the dynamic office market in Rotterdam. It highlights the excellent cooperation between the City of Rotterdam, OVG and Deloitte our client,' said Bas van Holten, Managing director at OVG.
This is the second major deal between OVG and SEB as investor. SEB bought the 35,000 m2 Lotus office project in Rotterdam from OVG. Axel Gies responsible for acquisition at SEB commented: 'The Netherlands is an important market for SEB and the purchase highlights our believe in a recovering Dutch market. The quality of the building in combination with the quality of the tenants will be a fine addition to our existing portfolio.' Savills Amsterdam represented SEB.
OVG was established in 1997 and has evolved into one of the largest commercial development companies in the Netherlands.
