MIPIM AWARDS Coima and Prelios score Italian hat-trick

Italian real estate companies Coima and Prelios SGR have scored three wins at the 28th edition of the annual Mipim Awards for real estate developments and buildings this week.

Coima, an all-round Italian real estate platform for both domestic and international institutional investors, won two awards for two projects in its native Milan.

Coima's Feltrinelli Foundation & Microsoft House project in Milan was recognised in the Best Office & Business Development category. Coima and its development partner, US firm Hines, saw their €2 bn Porta Nuova scheme in Milan take the honours in the Best Urban Regeneration category.

Manfredi Catella, CEO of Coima SGR, said: 'We are very satisfied with this double victory which on the one hand represents the strong appeal of our city to the most important international investors, and on the other further emphasises the value of the Porta Nuova and Porta Volta projects, which have succeeded in changing the face of the centre of Milan. The double victory also represents an important recognition for our team and for Italy, affirming the country's ability to execute projects of excellence which contribute to our international competitive edge.'

Prelios SGR topped the Best Shopping Centre category with its Fico Eataly World scheme in the Italian city of Bologna. Prelios is the Milan-based, pan-European real estate asset manager that grew out of the former Pirelli Real Estate.

The Mipim Awards results were announced at a gala ceremony held in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes during the Mipim real estate fair on Thursday.
