MCAP buys Spain and Italy retail assets from Pradera

An affiliate of MCAP Global Finance, the London-based subsidiary of global investment manager Marathon Asset Management, has purchased a portfolio of six shopping centres in Spain and Italy from the Pradera European Real Fund 2.

Financial details for the assets covering 90,000 m2, dubbed the Bronze portfolio, were not disclosed.

The assets include the Itaca Shopping Centre in Formia (pictured), a 23,000 m2 fully let shopping centre anchored by a Panorama Hypermarket, located 90km north of Naples.

Another Italian asset, the Tuscia Shopping Centre in Viterbo, situated 80km north of Rome, is a 17,000 m2 fully let shopping centre anchored by Coop, Italy's largest supermarket chain.

The transaction provided an exit for the fund’s unitholders. Pradera will continue to serve as asset manager of the Bronze portfolio on behalf of MCAP.

Accord Europe Limited advised Pradera on financial matters. MCAP was self-advised.
