KPMG has bought a 999-year lease in a 15-storey office property under construction in London's Canary Wharf district. The Canary Wharf Group, a subsidiary of Songbird Estates, is to complete the building by April 2009.
The building was designed by architects KPF and will feature high-efficiency, solar-control glass and architectural metal. It will have a full-height atrium 'to help create a collaborative and open-working environment'. The Canary Wharf Group extended KPMG's lease on another office block pending the delivery of the new building. KPMG intends to move staff from a number of London offices into the new Canary Wharf building, but it will retain its office at Salisbury Square in central London.
