INREV postpones annual conference

The European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate (INREV) has scrapped its annual conference in light of recent developments in the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement on Tuesday, INREV said it had taken the decision to reschedule its event planned for Athens on 21-22 April for 28-30 September, with details to be provided nearer the time.

INREV also announced its seminar at Mipim scheduled for Wednesday, 11 March was no longer being hosted. Reed Midem, the organiser of Mipim, announced on Saturday it was cancelling the event in Cannes to be replaced with a new date in June.

The annual two day conference is the flagship event of the non-listed real estate industry and usually attracts more than 400 delegates from across Europe and beyond. It is coupled with an investor-only seminar. Pre-conference events also include the AGM and an evening social to welcome delegates.

‘We have taken these decisions to prioritise the health and safety of all those attending these events, as well as that of the INREV team, but we very much hope you will still be able to join us for these events,’ the association said.

‘In the meantime, we will remain alert to advice from the World Health Organisation and make sure we keep you up-to-date with any further developments, as and when necessary.’

INREV’s membership includes 75 of the largest institutional investors, as well as 40 of the 50 largest real estate fund managers, according to its website. Lonneke Löwik is CEO. Marieke van Kamp, head of private markets at NN Group is chairman, and Isabelle Scemama, CEO of AXA IM – Real Assets is vice-chair.
