Henley Camland, part of the Henley Investments private equity firm, has announced the sale of 1,000 housing plots at its Whitecliffe project, situated across 500 acres of a former quarry on the banks of the River Thames.
The plots in Alkerden, one of the three new villages emerging within Whitecliffe, were sold to three housing developers - Redrow Homes, Bellway Homes and Westerhill Homes, all of whom have already delivered homes at the Ebbsfleet Garden City project.
In addition, Henley Camland has also exchanged contracts on the sale of a plot to its sister company on an 8.75 acre site. Henley Developments has plans for a mixed-use market centre within Alkerden Village comprising 60,000 sq ft to be made up of retail including a supermarket, leisure and F&B outlets. The developer will also oversee the delivery of 475 homes.
Peter Nelson, managing director, Henley Camland, said: ‘The progress Henley Camland has made at Whitecliffe within the constraints of the pandemic, where we have been able to maintain the pace of progress and secure some significant signings, is a real statement of our intent and role within Ebbsfleet Garden City.’
