Harrison St hires new managing director and head of IR for Europe

Harrison Street Real Estate Capital has announced the hiring of Albert Yang as managing director and head of Investor Relations – Europe.

In this role, Yang will assist the firm in broadening its European capabilities and will be responsible for servicing existing and new clients, capital raising and business development in the EMEA region. 

Yang will be based in London and report to Geoff Regnery, senior managing director and global head of Investor Relations.

Yang brings over 16 years of European real estate investment management experience to Harrison Street. He was most recently at Barings Real Estate where he served as managing director, Client Portfolio Manager responsible for European capital raising, investor relations and client service. He was a member of Baring’s European executive management committee and investment committee. 

Prior to Barings, Yang worked for JP Morgan Asset Management, where he served as executive director of Global Real Assets. Previously, he was director of institutional business and head of UK distribution at Henderson Global Investors. 

Earlier in his career, he held positions at Schroder Property Investment Management and Deutsche Property Asset Management. 

Harrison Street is one of the largest owners of student housing in the USand Europe. Headquartered in Chicago with an office in London, the firm has invested in over 125,000 student beds, and its European student housing portfolio comprises more than 7,000 beds in ownership or under construction across Ireland, France, Germany and the UK.

Harrison Street is currently investing on behalf of its second European fund, Harrison Street European Property Partners, II.  The fund focuses exclusively on acquisition and development of student accommodation throughout Europe.
