Baumont raises over €300m for debut property fund

Private equity business Baumont Real Estate Capital has announced that its debut private equity real estate fund, Baumont Real Estate One SCSp, has raised €337 mln at its final close.

The fund exceeded its target of €250 mln and was oversubscribed at the hard cap, closing on seven institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, fund of funds, endowments and pension and life insurance companies from Europe, the US and Asia. The figure of €337 mln included €25 mln of co-investment capital.

Baumont said that the fund will acquire real estate in Western Europe, with a focus on France and the UK. It has already deployed €50 mln, acquiring two office assets, representing a total deal value of approximately €125 mln.

Baumont, an independent real estate private equity investment firm, was formed in 2017 in London by Robert Balick, Frédéric Laurent (pictured), Serge Maton and Eric Salmon.
