BNP Paribas develops 80-unit Milan residential scheme

BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Development has announced a new residential development project in Milan, situated between Via Lamarmora and Via Orti which will take the name ‘Horti, il segreto di Porta Romana’.

Following the purchase of a 14,600 m2 site from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in October 2017 for around €24 mln, BNP Paribas will convert the area and build approximately 80 homes. Works will start in the first quarter of 2018 and are expected to complete in 2020.

'Following the success of residential project ‘Mia-la casa italiana’ in Milan and ‘Domus Aventino’ in Rome, BNP Real Estate Property Development is delighted to invest in a new premium project in the heart of Milan, mending the urban fabric in an area which has been in disuse for years,' commented Michele Latora, CEO of BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Development in Italy.

The project will be distinguished by a central park. The development will occupy an area of 10,000 m2, preserving the original layout of the former religious complex, with the addition of a historic garden of around 2,000 m2.

The interior design of the three buildings – the Villa, Orti and Lamarmora – will be curated by Daniele Fiori, DFA Partners.

BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Development will also develop access roads and the road network of Via Orti, which will include a full resurfacing, a modern revamp of existing car parking spaces and the creation of a new bike parking facility and green islands.

The business partners on the project are BNP Paribas Real Estate Advisory Italy and Sigest.
