Avignon Capital, the European property investment firm and asset manager, has appointed Cromwell Property Group's European head David Kirkby as director of capital accounts.
Based in the London office, Kirkby has worked in real estate for over 35 years and will focus on further growth of the company. He was previously CEO of Valad Europe, later known as Cromwell Property Group, responsible for leading the business.
Prior to joining Valad Europe, he was CEO of European Funds Management with the Lend Lease Group. His previous roles include CEO of Lend Lease's funds and development businesses in Asia and head of Wholesale Funds.
David Kirkby, newly-appointed director at Avignon Capital, commented 'I am delighted at the opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial team that are focused on client outcomes and passionate about what they do. Avignon Capital is a growing business, so hopefully my network and experience will complement the team as they expand further in the UK and Europe.'
This hire comes at an important time for Avignon Capital and marks the latest in a series of significant announcements this year. In March, Avignon was picked by CLSA, the international platform of China’s largest investment bank Citic Securities as exclusive partner in their new European property investment drive.
Avignon Capital is a boutique asset management firm with around €700 mln of assets across 104 properties in five countries.
