Allianz Real Estate launches Nordic office in Stockholm

Allianz Real Estate, the property investment arm of the Allianz Group, has unveiled plans to open a new office in Stockholm in August as it looks to strengthen its Nordics business.

'Allianz Real Estate is committed to developing its portfolio in the Nordics. We have been steadily growing our assets in this market but to enhance this further and better develop new relationships and partnerships, we have decided to open an office in Stockholm,' said Annette Kroeger, CEO north & central Europe, Allianz Real Estate.

The firm has appointed Jenny Lindholm (pictured) to head up operations in this market. A Swedish national, Lindholm joins Allianz Real Estate from Nyfosa, an opportunistic Swedish property company, where she had served as head of transactions since 2018.

Lindholm has over 17 years’ experience operating in the Nordic real estate market, having also worked for Catella Corporate Finance, Niam and Skanska Commercial Development.

Allianz Real Estate has actively increased its exposure to the Nordic real estate market over the past 12 months. In January this year, it joined forces with CBRE GIP to acquire a Nordic logistics portfolio of eight assets in Sweden and Denmark with a total value of more than €390 mln through a fund managed by NRP.

In July 2018, it expanded its core office footprint with the acquisition of the Gangaren 11 office complex in Stockholm for c. €175 mln.

The firm’s total assets under management in the Nordics stood at €1.08 bn, as at the end of 2018.

The move follows new office openings in Vienna, Los Angeles and Atlanta over the past few years to support aspirations to have a physical presence in its key markets.
