Belgian healthcare REIT Aedifica has appointed a country manager for the Netherlands to sustain its growth in the market where it has built up a €310 mln portfolio since 2016.
Eric Scheijgrond will supervise the management of the company’s Dutch portfolio and seek further expansion when he takes office from 1 September 2019.
Scheijgrond has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare real estate, having worked as associate director of healthcare at Cushman & Wakefield Netherlands since 2014, in charge of real estate investments in the sector. Prior to that, he worked for more than seven years as real estate manager for the Parnassia Group, a Dutch healthcare foundation.
According to figures from CBRE, Aedifica was the largest investor in Dutch healthcare real estate in 2018 for the second year in a row. In the past three years, the company has built up a portfolio of 42 healthcare sites with a capacity for more than 1,600 residents.
