The 13th edition of the Provada annual real estate trade fair in Amsterdam will have three main themes – social structures, partnerships and smart solutions – each of which will be highlighted on different days of the three-day event.
Social media and new social relationships arising from the digital age are creating a need for new real estate structures. If we work and shop more online, what is the role of real estate? Can it strengthen a virtual society or is the digital future a threat? A special session on the future role of social housing corporations will explore which trends need to be taken into account in building homes for the next decade, while JLL and CoreNet's end-users’ debate will discuss which trends occupiers see as important.
The complexity of future real estate challenges is spawning a need for new alliances between governments and business, consumers and the market and between real estate and other sectors. Which partnerships and business models work best and which are most future-proof? These and other questions will be discussed on the second day of the Provada under the Partnerships banner.
The third theme, smart solutions, takes a multidisciplinary approach and looks at what can be learned from start-ups and other sectors to address the challenges facing the real estate industry. In line with this theme, this year’s Provada will be opened by Prince Constantijn van Oranje, the younger brother of Dutch king Willem-Alexander, whose role as Special Envoy of the StartupDelta2020 makes him closely involved with business innovation. StartupDelta is a public-private partnership that aims to speed up innovation and attract start-ups, corporates and investors to the Netherlands.
Like last year, Provada 2017 will feature a Future platform highlighting trends and innovations that impact the real estate and construction sectors. Research, innovative projects and other publications will be presented on a daily basis, alongside match-making meet-ups, masterclasses and networking events.
On 31 May, the winners of the Green Leader Award, an initiative of the Dutch Green Building Council, Provada and PropertyEU's sister publication PropertyNL, will be announced. Five nominees, including Peter Göbel (director ING Real Estate Finance), have been shortlisted for the award, which goes to the person who displays strong leadership in making the built environment more sustainable.
