Caroline Gardiner has been appointed to Cushman & Wakefield’s global occupier services (GOS) team as head of facilities management, EMEA.

Gardiner has spent the past three years working as a consultant to Citigroup, responsible as project lead for the global outsourcing of its facilities management services across 98 countries.

'Facilities management is a core area for our business. Caroline’s proven track record in global facilities management, as well as workplace and business transformation projects for major corporations, will be a real benefit to our clients which include some of the world’s most prominent businesses and organisations,' said James Maddock, head of global occupier services EMEA.

Established within the facilities management sector, Gardiner has held a number of high-profile roles within the banking sector, including positions as project lead and interim global head of Barclays facilities services, as well as a facilities managment role at HSBC.

Current team lead, partner Ian Gray, remains in the senior management team, taking the role of head of client delivery. Gardiner joins as an international partner.

'Corporations are increasingly outsourcing some or all of the management and operation of their facilities,' said Gardiner. 'It is an exciting time in the sector and my insights, along with the team, will help inform our future growth strategy, global alignment and intelligent IFM capability to benefit new and existing clients, creating and delivering that all-important user experience.'
