The change, evolution and disruption confronting the retail real estate industry today are bigger than any individual or organisation. Times like these demand a wide perspective
to provide the insights that turn challenges into opportunities. How do you step back far enough though to get this perspective when all your fingers are stuck in the dike?
Part of the problem is that it’s easy to get trapped in whatever discipline or sector silo you are in. Great retail destinations however require collaboration between an increasingly diverse network
of companies and professionals. Architects, developers, investors, leasing, marketing and management professionals need to work together to create and bring them to life.
ICSC is a platform that helps to trans- form our industry into a community.
A place where diverse disciplines, sectors and even competitors come together to share trends, ideas and opportunities. Our events, publications, working groups and research are all designed to encourage this exchange.
This issue of Informed is a showcase of such collaboration. From the amazing cross-industry teamwork of the awards juries to an enhanced network of National Associations designed to encourage cross-border industry collab- oration, the stories featured here illus- trate the benefits of working together.
I hope that you find an insight, idea or someone to connect with in the following pages that helps you unlock opportunity!
