Sera Global, the global real assets advisor with over $100 bn in transactions to date, has hired high profile real estate professionals in Europe as it looks to expand its services.
Eoin Bastible, former MD and head of business development EMEA, Real Estate & Private Markets at UBS, has joined as partner responsible for capital coverage, origination and business development for the Private Capital Advisory practice in EMEA.
He is responsible for both real estate and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Ian Currie, formerly a director at Europa Capital responsible for capital raising, has also joined Sera with the title executive director, Private Capital Advisory. He is tasked with institutional and consultant coverage as well as advising real estate operators and managers on capital sourcing strategies, vehicle structuring and equity placement in EMEA.
Sera Global is headquartered in New York and London. Its global head is Toronto, Canada-based Leo van den Thillart, a former MD at Brookfield Asset Management and global head of Brookfield’s Private Funds Group from 2009 through 2020.
Apart from Bastible and Currie, other well-known European real estate figures at the firm include Damien Smith, managing partner, Strategic Advisory, Product Development, who joined in November 2020.
Sera rebranded from BFIN in February this year. The company is backed by Brookfield.
In April, the company said it had made key hires to drive a Liquidity Solutions and Secondaries Practice.
