Russian e-commerce player Ulmart has announced it plans to invest over $140 mln (€125 mln) to develop a number of logistics platforms across Russia.
Ulmart chairman Dmitry Kostygin said that the group is to start the construction of four multifunctional distribution centres in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Ulmart Development plans to complete two other platforms in the town of Mytishchi in the Moscow Region, and at Piskarevsky Avenue of St. Petersburg before the end of 2016, while also starting on a 60,000 m2 regional distribution centre at Sofiyskaya Street in St. Petersburg.
The developments will increase Ulmart's warehouse storage space from 190,000 m2 at end 2015 to up to 350,000 m2 by the end of this year.
'Altogether we plan to create 10 such complexes with a total floor area of 500,000 m2,' commented Kostygin said. Plans are to invest a total of $250 mln in the projects.
