Property advisor King Sturge said on Thursday it had leased a 10,240 m[sup]2[/sup] unit at the Mercury Logistics Park in Bucharest to Romanian firm Dumagas Transport. 'This transaction demonstrates that the growth seen in the retail market is driving strong demand in the logistics sector,' said Mark Mannering, joint managing director of King Sturge in Bucharest.

Leslie Warren, European development manager for Helios Phoenix, the developer of Mercury Logistics Park, added: 'The build quality of the warehouse will ensure fast operational effectiveness for Dumagas. We are planning to start on a fourth unit of 10,000 m² and it will be available later in 2008. Helios is now looking for tenants for the rest of the scheme consisting of four phases totalling 55,800 m² scheduled to be delivered in the next two years.' Minimax has already leased 14,000 m2 and Delamode a further 10,000 m2, both on 10-year leases.
Separately, King Sturge said it had signed lighting manufacturer Osram and media group Egmont to the Bastijanova office building in Zagreb, Croatia. Situated in West Zagreb, the building provides 1,400 m2 of high-quality office accomodation and is the first investment by developer Gorica Kamen. King Sturge provided consultancy and agency services for the building which has attracted much interest from international occupiers.
Osram has signed a five-year lease for 430 m2, while Egmont and has signed a five-year lease for 260 m2 .
